Call for Nominations:
Children's Festival of Saskatchewan Board of Directors

The Children's Festival Board of Directors is pleased to call for nominations or applications to the Board of Directors, with voting and volunteer terms beginning at our AGM in January 2026.

About the Board of Directors Position

The Director position is a volunteer role on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, on behalf of all residents of Saskatchewan and visitors to our province, provides leadership, strategic direction, policy development, and oversight using a policy governance model.

Becoming a Director for the Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan allows you to become a part of a vibrant, creative organization, make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, and is a rewarding volunteer opportunity with important legal and fiduciary duties that does require a commitment of time, skill, and resources.

While it is a volunteer position and is not financially compensated, there are unique benefits within the organization by being involved as a Board Member and we hope you’ll find the experience rewarding and beneficial.

Nominees should have demonstrated leadership and excellence in their own field of expertise, and be enthusiastic about volunteering their support to Children's Festival of Saskatchewan.

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attend regular board meetings (approximately 1/month)

  • Be available to volunteer at the Festival (early June annually)

  • Participate in Board Action Items throughout the year

  • Act as an ambassador for the Festival within the community and networks

  • Support the organization’s General Manager

  • Support fundraising and outreach efforts

Perspectives, insights and/or skills that would benefit our Board of Directors:

  • Education, arts, or youth programming

  • Non-profit governance

  • Finance, fundraising, or sponsorship

  • Tourism, event planning or community engagement

  • Marketing and communications

  • Government relations

  • Strategic-minded individuals with the ability to think big picture and long-term

  • Ability to contribute their time and energy through active participation on the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors recognizes the barriers to participation faced by a number of deserving communities and values the perspectives that come from diversifying the perspectives of those present. The Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from under-represented groups. We would particularly benefit from members who bring perspectives from the following communities:

  • Indigenous communities

  • Black, Visibility Minority, and Newcomer Communities

  • Deaf, disabled and otherwise underrepresented and equity-deserving communities

To apply, please submit your statement of interest and resume to our Nomination Form by Friday, December 5, at 11:59 PM.

The Board of Directors would like to thank all applicants for their interest. Only nominees selected to move forward will be contacted for additional information, including a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check and those selected for an official Board of Directors Nomination will be voted on at our AGM in January 2026.
